Cookie and local storage policy

1. What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser and that are sent back to the server on each visit. Local storage (localStorage) is a space in the browser itself where a site can keep data that stays on your device and is not sent to the server with every request.

2. What we use on this site

This site does not set cookies: no first-party, analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. It only keeps two technical, preference-related items in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device, are not sent to the server and are not used to identify you or build profiles.

3. List of stored items

Both are first-party, technical or personalisation items, kept until you delete them (they do not expire on their own) and not shared with third parties:

  • kaimban-early-v1: the date you closed or completed the early access pop-up, so it is not shown again for 14 days.
  • kaimban-lang-dismissed: that you dismissed the suggestion to switch to your browser language, so we do not suggest it again.

4. Legal basis: why we do not ask for consent

Article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE requires consent to store or access information on a user’s device, unless strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user or solely to enable communication. The items listed are technical or personalisation items tied to a choice you made (closing a notice, dismissing a language suggestion), so they are exempt from consent and we show no banner.

If in the future we add analytics, advertising or other technologies that are not exempt, we will tell you, update this policy and ask for your consent before using them.

5. Third parties

We do not set third-party cookies or load third-party resources (fonts, scripts, videos or maps): everything is served from our own domain.

6. How to manage or delete this data

You can view and delete stored data from your browser settings (usually under Privacy and security > Site data or Clear browsing data; also in the developer tools, Storage tab). If you delete it, the site may show the early access pop-up and the language suggestion again. If your browser blocks local storage, the site will keep working normally.

7. Changes and contact

We may update this policy; the date of the last update appears at the top of the page. If you have questions, write to [email protected].
